The Month Is Just Flying By! ©

This isn't meant to be a pun as you will figure out as you go through the month of events.
Belly Flops and Balloons, Cakes and Planes, Coaches and Prayer Flags, Family and Friends--hang on, here we go!

It is a short month, February, so why not celebrate every day if your birthday is in this month?  For me every day is something special, from just an extra Starbucks one day to my new iPhone another day!  From haircuts and color to manicures and pedicures to shopping at the Lancome counter.  From kids visiting and calling, seeing the babies on the skype, to getting a little crazy and wild--oh ya!
All these things lead up to the week-end of the big DAY--Social Security Day.  I can't believe it but I made it while it is still available--of course I don't see it until the middle of April but I'm assured it is in the mail! A surprise party (which I found out about) was terrific, the weather couldn't have been better and our friends helped make it the perfect day.  The day of my birthday was my flight day--yes, I said flight day.  Up, Up and Away--I started in a flight simulator which was very sensitive or maybe it was just me being overwhelmed and excited.  I flew out of the Victoria Falls Airport in Zimbabwe.  As I gained altitude I could see the elephant trails and in the distance I could see the mist of Victoria Falls!  It looked just like it did a year ago when we did fly out of Vic Falls Airport.

My mistake was to look for the elephants (which weren't going to be there); as I was looking, my plane was descending and when I went to correct the plane, myself, and my passenger--oops, we (I) crashed.  But it was great while we were up, up and away!

I flew again over Scottsdale in the simulator and being excited and being me I wanted to see everything and to know where I was, so again I found myself descending and yes--I crashed again.

Next it was on to the Cessna waiting for me out on the runway.  It was a great experience thanks to Mike, my co-pilot who took over the controls so I could see where I was and where I was going at all times.  We flew north towards our house and over the vast Sonoran Desert before heading back to the Airpark in Scottsdale.  I did it and now I have a log book with one hour of flight registered.

That same evening we were invited to a Dinner and Live Music Concert by JEORDIE.  She is the daughter of 60's musical artist MELANIE, ("Brand New Key"), who remembers? It has been a busy and exciting month and the good news--it isn't over yet!
